Awards season has officially arrived in Hollywood. The Television Academy announced the nominees for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on July 8, 2026, and the race is already one for the record books. HBO Max's gripping medical drama The Pitt stormed out of the gate with 25 nominations — the most of any series this year — while the final season of Hacks shattered a decades-old record by earning 24 nominations , the most ever received by a comedy series in a single season.
